Extreme Fast Weightloss Solutions - Do They Really Work?

Apparently, people want to get thin, and they want to get thin NOW. This is the reason why there are so many extreme fast weightloss solutions being touted about in the World Wide Web and beyond. Most of these products are herbal remedies that advertise themselves as extreme fat burners, "guaranteed" to burn off layers of excess adipose tissues. Others are cream-like, or clear liquid preparations that could be applied on the skin that should penetrate through the epidermis and melt away trouble areas (especially handy if your trouble areas are relegated to one or two body parts only.) And others still are stronger medications that are supposed to speed up your metabolism, helping you burn off unwanted calories even when you rest. In any case, with so many extreme fast weightloss solutions to choose from, it's easy to get lost in the promises of instant thinness. But do they really work?

The truth is: these extreme fast weightloss solutions do work... sometimes and only for a certain group of people. More often than not, they don't. Here's why:

People are built differently - from the inside and out. The same way that your brown hair is not the same shade as your neighbor's brown hair; people have varying internal constitutions and outward appearances. This means that your metabolism differs greatly from all the other people in this planet. The time it takes for you to shed off excess adipose tissue is also unique, as with what kind of food makes you gain weight fast.

Over-the-counter extreme fast weightloss solutions are basically generalized preparations created to aid specific groups of people with specific problems. For example, herbal remedies for fat burning works well with people who respond to herbal remedies, who sheds fat with ease, and who do have fats to burn in the first place. Anyone else who falls short of these 3 categories will most likely find themselves on the shorter end of the weight loss stick.

The cream-like or clear liquid extreme fast weightloss solutions might work for a few people, especially those who do not have sensitive skin; who can tolerate skin applications of this kind; and who wants to trim off only one or two parts of their bodies, like flabby arms or jiggling thighs. The stronger medications for metabolic aid, is only applicable to people who respond well to strong preparations, and who have no problem with drastic internal bodily changes.

Besides, according to health experts and medical professionals, extreme fast weightloss solutions are usually not safe to try on your own. Losing too much weight in a very short amount of time is bound to lead to other health concerns like failing internal organs or suffering from the effects of mineral and vitamin deprivation. In short, the body literally shuts down due to starvation.

This is primarily the reason why safe weight loss program is usually deigned specifically for one person alone, taking account of the person's specific medical and nutritional needs and capabilities. Admittedly, this kind of weight loss program does take a longer time to complete, but the results are more permanent and safer to continue in the end.

17 Habits Of Thin People -–Habits That Can Help You Keep Your Weight Under Control

Imagine the freedom thin people have to eat anything at any time they wish to eat.
“Aren’t they worried about chances of some disease? How do they maintain to be slimmer always? Do they have any secret habits behind this? Are they thin by nature or have they adopted any peculiar workout to become thin always?”
Well, here you will find some interesting information about the habits of thin people.
These are not something very different from what normally people do. But skinny people might do things differently than a normal person does. Let’s take a look at those habits.

What do thin people do?

1. Completely avoid snacks

Eat three meals in a day. It can include lean protein, fresh and useful vegetables, a good amount of grains etc. Having a well balanced meal without any fatty snacks in between is what they usually do.

water12. Water is the primary and most preferred beverage

Our body needs a plenty of water to keep our cells hydrated.
There is no such replacement for water. Drinking tea, soda etc are never good replacements for what water provides to our body.
Almost 80% of our body is in liquid form anddrinking pure water makes sure that our body temperature is kept balanced.

3. Never worry about their body weight

This is one of the main reasons that stop you from freely eating your choice of food. Instead ofworrying about your weight, start eating in an enjoyable manner which can make you healthy and active.
Always think positively by saying yourself that, ‘I am healthy, I have a fit body and I am at my right weight.

breakfast4. Always eat Breakfast

Being the first meal of the day, it is never a good idea to skip breakfast.
Breakfasts jumpstart your day by ‘breaking the fast.‘ It is very significant to have this meal even at your workplace, at your home, the farm, at office, or in school.
Eating a healthy breakfast keeps you set for the rest of the day.

5. Do not skip meals

Naturally thin people never skip meals, especially breakfast.
Have you ever skipped your meal expecting to lose your weight?
If so, keep in mind that you are inviting some diseases your way! Skipping a meal and keeping your stomach empty is harmful for your stomach and its digestive system.
Moreover, the next time you eat after a skipped meal, you have all the chances to eat more food which in turn increase the calories.

6. Concentrate and enjoy the meal

If you notice you can see that skinny people do not do any other activity while they eat. This takes away the entire fun and enjoyment of your food [conscious eating].

7. Know when to eat

Thin people are usually softer. They do not allow any one to spoil their mood. They do not let anyone else down. And they stick to their 3 time meal schedule.
As in some cases, the feelings like disappointment, anger or sadness are misinterpreted as hunger and people tend to eat more [emotional eating].

8. Avoid typical foods

Most of the thin people do not like foods that have the possibility of expansion inside the stomach after we eat.
Bread is a typical example for that. Once you eat a few pieces of bread, it gives you a feeling of full stomach.
But in actuality, it gets expanded inside your stomach and gives you that feeling. Thin people try to avoid these types of foods.

icecream9. Keep away from ice creams

Ice creams contain much fat and less taste except that it is sweet. Flavor is very less in ice creams.
It is always better for you to choose some flavored dish, even though it is just a spoon full.
This always has the advantage over the large amount of half-flavored dish you eat.

10. Eat later

Imagine you are hungry and about to leave your office. What would you do? Will you wait until you reach home and eat something?
Or you would stop by at some of your favorite restaurants on the way home? Normally, people who are overweight do not withstand hunger but thin people are always able to do so.

11. Tired to eat

Unimaginable, right? But there are some cases of thin people who find it a very heavy task to spend time to eat.

sleep12. Sleep as in demand

One of the attracting habits of thin people is that they sleep like their body demands.
Just imagine if you are sleepy and hungry at the same time. What would you prefer to do then? Many of the thin people might give themselves a nap first and then eat and enjoy their food later.

13. Eat when they are hungry

Have you ever tried to find the difference between being hungry and waiting for the time to eat?Naturally thin people eat when they are really hungry.
In other words when it is their eating time, they really are hungry. As said earlier, they are hungry because they do not take in any snacks between their 3-meal schedules .

14. Never cheat the mind

“It is enough. I will eat this too even though it is my most favorite dish. Well, let me have this piece too since my friend is insisting.”
These are some typical instances where you might overeat sometimes. This does not happen with most naturally thin people. They stop eating when they think it is enough for them.

15. “I am hungry”

Desire to eat at a given point of time is not hunger. If you are an over weighted person and so much used to eat, it is definite that it would be very difficult to differ the real hunger even if the time is on.
How do thin people handle this situation? They take only a small portion of food. This would be something good to adopt to bring down your weight.

16. Hate when stomach is full

Some studies have shown that thin people do not like the feeling of a full stomach. They think that it greatly affects their following time at office and their work performance.

weight loss17. “I know how much to eat”

It is true that you eat only 3 times a day.
What if you get to eat your favorite dish all the time? Would you stop when you have to? This is very much important.
Most thin people are able to stop when they are done with their portion even if it is their favorite food. So the next time you see a thin person pass by your direction, you no longer have to be puzzled why they are thin and look leaner than most of the people around you.
They just happened to employ ordinary measures that all the other thin individuals do. Thin people just happened to approach life differently. In this regard, it is never too late to change yours.
If you want to become thin, you might as well consider what have been doing and try incorporating their healthy habits to your lifestyle. Who knows, after a month or two you will already achieve what you have been dreaming about.
Lastly, don’t be insecure with thin people because sometimes their bodies were just made that way.

Myths, Facts And Green Smoothie Benefits For Your Health

Unless you have been hiding in a cave, we are sure you have heard of the astounding health benefits of your green smoothie. But are green smoothies as nutritionally impressive as they seem?
Keep in mind when making delicious green smoothies, you should add healthy fats to your greens. Since vegetable nutrients are better absorbed when ingested with fats.
Try adding full-fat coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut cream, Greek yogurt, or nut butters to increase vitamin absorption. Find out if green smoothies are the best way to get your nutrients in this great article from One Green Planet.

Green Smoothie Benefits

by: One Green Planet
Green smoothies have attracted massive fans from the health community for decades…celebrated for their impressive nutrient content, convenience, and ease of consumption. There are even full books dedicated solely to green smoothie recipes, like Victoria Boutenko’s Green Smoothie Revolution and the recent Bo Rinaldi’s The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Green Smoothies. In fact, I advocate their benefits everywhere I speak, included recipes for green smoothies in both of my books, and even demonstrate them on shows like Reluctantly Healthy and The Dr.Oz Show.
However, there are some allegations floating about, accusing green smoothies of being harmful. They include:
  • Raise blood glucose levels
  • Enable the consumption of too many calories at one meal
  • Damage endothelial cells, cause metabolic syndrome, obesity, fatty liver, etc. due to the high levels of fructose
  • Can lead to kidney stones since leafy greens have high oxalate content
Let’s break these down…

Blood Glucose Levels

Overall, there is no science that I am aware of directly implicating green smoothies as suspect in any of these accusations. There is, however, evidence supporting similar issues that people are hypothesizing that apply to green smoothies, too. For instance, we know that fruit juice typically raises insulin levels quicker than the whole fruit because the fiber is removed.
However, with green smoothies, the fiber remains, only it is broken down and may go through the digestive tract quicker than in its whole form. If you are diabetic or pre-diabetic, or are concerned about this, you can slow down the glycemic response (and accompanying insulin release) to a green smoothie by:
  • Adding some fat or protein to the smoothie via seeds or almond milk, for instance
  • Using more leafy greens and other vegetables (celery, carrots, or avocado) and less fruits
  • Choosing higher-fiber fruits like berries, mango, and pears over lower-fiber fruits like bananas and grapes
  • If you have diabetes and notice an elevated blood glucose response after trying these adjustments, perhaps you are sensitive and should avoid them.

Calories

When it comes to calories, most vegetable and fruit smoothies can contain anywhere between 200-500 calories per glass. My enormous It’s Easy Being Green Smoothie from The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition provides 460 calories for a whopping 36 ounces (equal to 4.5 cups)!
It is so filling, I dare you to finish it! Thus, you can easily control for the calories simply by making a smaller smoothie, using it as a meal replacement, or compensating with the rest of your meal to fit your caloric requirements.

The Fructose Controversy

There is indeed evidence that high intake of fructose may lead to metabolic syndrome, obesity, fatty liver, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, and even kidney disease (here and here, for example).
But what is fructose? Fructose is a simple sugar, a monosaccharide. For centuries, fructose was primarily consumed from natural sources like fruits and honey.
In the last few decades, a main source for fructose became sugar, a.k.a. “sucrose,” a disaccharide with equal parts fructose and glucose. Additionally, man created high-fructose corn syrup in the 1970s, offering up an opportunity for food manufacturers to save money, utilize the excess corn supply, and sweeten processed foods.
Fructose consumption skyrocketed from approximately 4 percent of total calories before the year 1900 to an estimated 12 percent of calories now.
But just because fructose may be up to no good doesn’t mean that the naturally-occurring fructose in fruits and vegetables have the same impact as the sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup. green smoothies facts and myths
This study and this one differentiate and note that not all fructose is the same, pointing out that fructose in fruit comes packaged along with fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that may outweigh any potential risk.
In this letter to the editor from the Journal of The American Dietetic Association, it is postulated that the evidence pointing to fructose alone as cause for these chronic conditions may not consider excessive calorie intake as a possible confounding variable. It also suggests we need good human trials before we make conclusions on the metabolic effects of fructose.
By the way, the only research on endothelial cell injury that I found was this study that used pure fructose and was performed on rats.

Kidney Stones and Oxalates

Only about 10 percent of the population experience kidney stones in their lifetime. The most common types of calcium stones are listed in this table from the Canadian Medical Association; of which the hyperoxaluric one is associated with excessive consumption of leafy greens and other veggies.
Concerns over green smoothies and kidney stones are in relation to the hyperoxaluria type. Oxalates are salts of oxalic acid, an organic acid found in many fruits and vegetables. They are normally formed into soluble salts and excreted in the urine. However, excess levels may lead to the formation of calcium oxalate stones in the kidney.
This condition is very rare, usually genetically-based or may be due to dietary causes, like low calcium intake. In fact, increased intake of dietary calcium is recommended to reverse hyperoxaluria and prevent stone formation. Dehydration can also be a factor contributing to these types of kidney stones.
For the rare circumstances where there are kidney stones from hyperoxaluria, restricting oxalates may be warranted. There is also evidence suggesting that higher dietary intake of calcium may be protective against kidney stones, a mineral also abundant in leafy greens.
Because of the extreme rarity of kidney stones due to oxalate intake and the fact that most people don’t even come close to overconsuming these foods, avoiding them is unwarranted. There are far too many benefits from their consumption to risk foregoing them.

Speaking of Green Smoothie Benefits…

Here are just some of the myriad reasons to bring back the love of green smoothies:
It’s a very convenient and efficient method of consuming adequate servings of fruits and vegetables.Only between 9.5 and 14 percent of the U.S. population takes in the minimum recommended intakes of fruits and vegetables…and that number includes fries and ketchup!
Fruit and vegetable pureed drinks significantly increase “dietary and plasma phytochemical concentrations with a trend towards increased endothelium-dependent vasodilation.” (George, et al, 2012) This, in turn, decreases one’s risk for most chronic diseases.
So many of us have a tough time remembering to chew our food well enough. Nutrients in plants are trapped within their cell walls. Humans are not designed to break down cellulose (plant fiber). Thus, blending the plants breaks down the cell walls for you, releasing the nutrients, and enabling adequate absorption of nutrients…

I Can't Exercise! How Can I Lose Weight Without Exercise?

Weight is a problem for a large percentage of Americans - and the biggest problem is how to lose weight when you're over 50. You can't do the same sorts of exercise routines that younger people have the ability to do. So where do you go for weight loss? It's simply not feasible to go out jogging, or lifting weights at the gym - particularly as you get older injuries become far more serious, and take longer to heal.
I understand the problem well - having spent many years in the Marine Corps, but then leaving the service, only to then find that my weight ballooned as I stopped the strenuous exercise routines that all Marines undergo daily. So I started running again, as you might know, Marines like to run 3 miles for the fun of it. But old injuries started popping up, and my knees and back couldn't take the long runs.

Yet I needed to lose weight... does this sound like a familiar problem?

The answer I found was two-pronged, I had to find another form of exercise that I could do with my tired broken down body - and I had to change the way I eat. The solutions that worked for me was learning about food - what was good for me, and what was not. (It's downright amazing what ordinary foods Americans eat that is simply bad for you!)
The exercise that I found, after a great deal of research, was a 'rebounder'. Sometimes known as a mini-tramp. The exercise you get simply jumping up and down on a rebounder is almost beyond belief... after my first 30 minutes, I had to stop - I was sweating as if I'd just finished a three mile run! Yet my knees felt no pain, and my back was in fine shape. So for me, a combination of relearning what and how to eat, and finding an exercise that I could do with no pain was my answer. I dropped close to a hundred pounds, and am still losing weight. What about you?

Five kitchen tools that make life easier

There are certain things that just make life flow smoothly. In a previous life, for me these things may have included cab charges, three-minute rice meals, and access to our magazine’s beauty cupboard. These days, it’s certain items of kitchen equipment.
You know your priorities have changed when you spend breaks between work scouring online raw food stores and The Book Depository instead of Perez Hilton and TMZ. Even more so when you save your pennies for things like a Le Cruset pot set and a Vitamix blender instead of designer clothes and alcohol and drug-fuelled night’s out.

Here are five of the best purchases we’ve ever made …

 1. The Spirooli
Aka, a vegetable spiraliser or spiralling tool. This is the awesome piece of equipment we use to turn the humble ol’ zucchini into beautiful spaghetti. It also makes spirally carrot, potato, and anything else you wish to feed through it. You can buy them here.

2. The salad spinner
Before I bought Mum a salad spinner she would wash our lettuce and then spend ages patting it dry with paper towelling. Not any more! This item cuts salad preparation time down by heaps. Ikea and most kitchen shops stock them, and you can also buy online here.

3. The Tribest Personal Blender
This was my boyfriend’s birthday present this year, but every one of us in our house uses this beauty on a daily basis. We make smoothies, creamed corn, hummus, dips, chocolate, and other delicious desserts. The best part about it is that there is hardly any cleaning up involved. You make and drink the smoothie out of the same cup! Buy here.

4. The Le Cruset pot
For vegetables to retain the most amount of nutrients, they have to be cooked on very low heat and preferably not with any water. We cook our veggies for lunch and dinner in this cast iron Le Cruset pot. We just add chopped up tomato and onion to the bottom of the pot, and cook on low until they’re done. The heavy lid and heavy base prevent steam from escaping and prevent the veggies from burning. We picked ours up from Myer. To get it online go here.

5. The Norwalk cold-press juicer
This machine is amazing. I know it’s pricey and weighs a tonne, but I still think this is the best purchase we’ve ever made. Ever. Well, apart from Edie, my adorable pug dog. This thing makes the best-tasting juice (all juice, absolutely no pulp), and is powerful enough to juice greens with ease. I recently went away for a couple of days and had to take our old juicer with me (it’s much more mobile), but the juice just didn’t taste the same and I hurt my neck trying to push kale through it. If you aren’t ready to make this much of an investment in juicing just yet, there are other more affordable options. The Angel and The Champion are both great. However, if you’re serious about juicing for health, The Norwalk is definitely worth saving up for. We like to think of the financial outlay as medical insurance. However, if you are really interested, you can buy the angel here.
